Olympia New Horizons Band

Summary

90 Musicians representing New Horizons Bands from around the country attended Olympia's 2005 Band Camp at Washington Land Yacht Harbor from July 12 through July 16. For five days the group practiced together, ate together, laughed together, and shared some wonderful moments, culminating in a great concert on Saturday evening. Attendees had the opportunity to do a bit of sightseeing, attend an ice cream social, and sing along at a pizza party as well as getting in many hours of play and practice on their various instruments. The busy schedule stretched everyone to gain in musicianship as well as making new friends, and many participants are already looking forward to the next camp.

The four inspiring directors working with the group were: host Vic Jowders of Olympia, Washington; Sue Steiger of Bend, Oregon; Van Vander Ark of Santa Barbara, California; and Peter Ziegler of Madison, Wisconsin.
